Veterans’ Day 2022

The Chief of Staff, Lieutenant-General Seán Clancy, has issued invitations to this year’s Defence Forces Veterans’ Day, taking place on Sunday, 19 June in McKee Barracks, Dublin, commencing at 1400 hours.

A representative group from each of the three Veterans’ Associations (ARCO, ONET and IUNVA) will parade, and will be reviewed by the Minister for Defence, Mr. Simon Coveney TD.

Following the review, the Minister will address the parade and other attendees. The ceremony will conclude with the laying of wreaths by the Minister for Defence and representatives of ARCO, ONET and IUNVA.

Veterans’ Day reaches out to honour retired members of the Defence Forces and all Veterans have been invited to the event.  Families of those Veterans in attendance are always welcomed to this event.

The Executive Committee encourages ARCO members to attend Veterans’ Day. Medals should be worn.

Members are requested to participate in the ceremony and are asked to report to ARCO’s forming-up point by 1320 hours.

Members who are not parading for the ceremony should be seated by 1345 hours.

It is expected the parade will conclude at 1445 hours approx. after which attendees will have the opportunity to view a capability display and to attend the reception in the Catering Centre.

We look forward to seeing you in McKee Barracks on Sunday, 19 June. Be prepared for the vagaries of Irish weather conditions.
