Maj. Gen. Kevin Murphy RIP

ARCOIreland regrets to inform its members of the death of Major General F. K. (Kevin) Murphy of Salthill, County Galway and Newbridge, County Kildare, a member of 20 Cadet Class (1946 – 1948) who served as both Quartermaster General and Adjutant General of the Defence Forces. Unexpectedly and peacefully on Sunday 28th July 2019. Beloved husband of the late Thérèse and much loved and cherished father of Commandant Conal (Retired) (Tuam), Kevin Junior (Greystones), and the late Lieutenant Aonghus, who died on 21st August 1986 while serving with 59 Infantry Battalion UNIFIL.

He will be very sadly missed by his sons, daughters-in-law Ann and Mary, his grandchildren Niall, Ailbhe and Eoghan, nieces, nephews, good neighbours, friends and army colleagues.

Requiescat in Pace – Ní bheidh a leithéid ann arís

Reposing at Saint Patrick’s Garrison Church, Renmore Barracks on Wednesday, 31st July from 6.00pm to 7.30pm. Requiem Mass in the Church of Christ the King, Salthill on Thursday 1st August at 12 noon. Funeral after Mass to the New Cemetery, Bohermore.
