ARCOIreland members will be aware, from a previous posting on this website, that the payment arrangements for their monthly military pension will change from the current 20th of the month to the end of the month. The Department of Defence will write to members during the month of September outlining the proposed changeover procedures. They will ask members to make the necessary arrangements with their financial institutions in relation to regular repayments that might be based on the present payment date of the 20th of the month.
The following are the indicated dates for the phased introduction of the new pension payment arrangements over the 6 month period, November 2013 to April 2014.
- Payment date 22 November.
- Payment date 18 December. (The December payment will remain at this date going forward.)
- Payment date 22 January.
- Payment date 24 February.
- Payment date 28 March.
- Payment date 30 April.
Those members who qualified for pensions after 1 March 2012 are already being paid on the last day of the month.
