
On Friday, 18th July 2025, the Vice President of the Association of Retired Commissioned Officers, Captain NS David Barry (Retd), attended the Naval Service Commissioning in the Naval Base, Haulbowline, County Cork and presented the Association’s award to newly commissioned Sub-Lieutenant Oisín Anderson.

Oisín is an Operations Branch Officer, is a native of Sligo, and enlisted as a Naval Service Cadet in the Defence Forces holding an Honours Degree in Human Resource Management from Atlantic Technological University. The officers will now continue their studies for a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nautical Science at the National Maritime College of Ireland.
