Lt. Col. Pat McMahon RIP

RIP

ARCOIreland regrets to inform its members of the death of Lieutenant Colonel Patrick (Pat) McMahon of Malahide, County Dublin and formerly of Dowdallshill, Dundalk, Co. Louth. On 8th November 2016, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family and in the wonderful care of the staff of Talbot Lodge Nursing Home. Loving husband of the late Anne. Pat will be very sadly missed by his loving children Joan, Orla, Dara, Jim and Aisling, daughter-in-law Catraoine, son-in-law Alun, grandchildren Sarah, Cara, Katie and Grace, sisters Maureen and Freda, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, extended family and wide circle of friends. Pat was a member of the 29th Cadet Class and served in the Eastern Command area and in Defence Forces Headquarters. He commanded 29 Infantry Battalion at home and also commanded 64 Infantry Battalion, UNIFIL. A noted footballer, he was a member of the Cadet School Team that won the Kildare Senior Football Championship in 1956.

Reposing on Thursday afternoon in Stafford’s Funeral Home, Strand Road, Portmarnock from 5pm until 7pm. Removal on Friday morning to St. Sylvester’s Church, Malahide arriving for 11am. Funeral Mass followed by cremation in Dardistown Crematorium. Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to the Fr. Peter McVerry Trust.
