Census 2027 will take place next year between April and May. The Central Statistics Office is currently recruiting staff to help it in delivering a successful census across the country. The first campaign to recruit Senior Managers for the Census Field Staff has been completed (See our posting of 9th April 2026: https://arcoireland.com/census-2027-senior-manager-competition/).
The next competition to recruit 466 Census Field Supervisors will begin on 7th September 2026. Details of the roles and application process are available HERE and on www.census.ie.
Census Field Supervisors will work full-time on a temporary, fixed-purpose contract which will begin in January 2027 and finish in June 2027. Successful applicants will manage a team of Census Field Support Officers in their assigned district. The work will be challenging and varied.
There is no upper age limit restriction on these jobs.
The recruitment of 3,800 Census Field Support Officers will begin on 23rd November 2026.
