ARCOIreland regrets to inform its members of the death of Brigadier General Patrick (Paddy) Keogh of 50, Rockbarton Park, Salthill, Galway. On Wednesday, 27th March 2019, peacefully, beloved husband of Carmel and much loved father of Orla, Cathal, Caimin and Shane. Sadly missed by his wife, daughter and sons, sisters Siobhan, Marguerite, Carmel and Colette, brother Eamon, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Brigadier General Paddy Keogh was born in Athenry, County Galway and as a member of the 29th Cadet Class he was commissioned in November 1956. He was a former Director of Operations and General Officer Commanding Western Command. Two of his sons are serving officers, Lieutenant Colonel Caimin Keogh is Officer Commanding 113th Infantry Battalion with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and Commandant Shane Keogh is President of the Representative Association of Commissioned Officers (RACO).
Paddy served with the United Nations in the Congo, he completed two tours of duty in the Lebanon when he was Chief Operations Officer at Force Headquarters in 1989 and as a military observer with the United Nations Truce Supervision Organisation in the Middle East. He was Deputy Head of Mission (Operations) of the European Community Monitor Mission in the former Yugoslavia in 1995/1996.
Reposing at his home on Friday 29th March from 4.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. Removal on Saturday 30th March to Christ the King Church, Salthill to arrive for Requiem Mass at 11.00 a.m. Funeral afterwards to Rahoon cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to Galway Parkinsons Association. House private on Saturday morning.
