ARCO welcomes the establishment of the External Oversight Body of the Defence Forces but expresses its concern over the imbalance of Defence representation in its membership. The inclusion of a civilian Defence Official should be balanced by the inclusion of a Military Professional. This body will have to have the trust and confidence of both the military and civilian components of the Defence Community. Alternatively, Defence representation should not be included in its membership.
