Census 2027 will take place next year between April and May. The Central Statistics Office is now beginning to RECRUIT STAFF to help it in delivering a successful census across the country. The first campaign is to recruit Senior Managers for the Census Field Staff. These will consist of 6 Census Liaison Officers and 46 Census Regional Supervisors. The competition for these positions will open on 22 April 2026, and details of the roles and applications process are available to complete online on www.census.ie
The successful Senior Manager candidates will commence work in September/October until June 2027.
There is no upper age limit restriction on these jobs.
A competition to recruit 466 Census Field Supervisors will begin on 7 September 2026, and one for the recruitment of 3,800 Census Field Support Officers will begin on 23 November 2026.
