NEW UCD Research – Vitamin D help this winter!

ARCO has been contacted by the UCD Institute of Food and Health. The Institute is launching a new research study which aims to improve wintertime Vitamin D status among older adults. The study runs for 10 weeks, and they need adult volunteers, who are 65 years and over, to take part.

Volunteers will be asked to attend two visits at UCD (at the beginning and end of the study) and to eat two slices of study bread daily during the study. In addition to getting free bread for 10 weeks, volunteers will get one-to-one support from a nutritionist or dietitian with tips on how to eat more Vitamin D and follow a healthy diet.

There is more information on the Institute’s website at: https://www.ucd.ie/foodandhealth/more/humanhealthstudies/vitamind/

Members of ARCO who are interested in taking part in the study should contact vitaminD@ucd.ie or phone 01 716 2467.
