The vast majority of military pensions are paid by what is known as ‘ Electronic Funds Transfer’ (EFT) into personal bank accounts. Under the Government’s Public Service Reform Plan, it has been decided the payment of state pensions by cheque will be phased out by mid-2013.
The Department of Defence has informed us that they will write to all the military pensioners who will be affected by this decision.
