Many ARCO members will know Lieutenant-Colonel Walter (Wally) Hunt, a member of our association. After commissioning Wally began his military career in the Equitation School and followed this with appointments in the Supply and Transport Corps and with 2 Infantry Brigade. In Defence Forces Headquarters he served in Military Finance and in Operations Section. Overseas he served with UNIFIL and with UNTSO.
Wally is facing one of the toughest challenges of his life having been receiving treatment for cancer since 2019. He now needs specialised surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, one of the leading cancer hospitals in the world. Unfortunately this procedure is not available anywhere in Europe and is the last treatment option for him with high rates of success.
The costs involved, however, are significant and are in excess of €250,000. This is more than Wally and his family can manage alone. To help meet the costs a gofundme Fundraiser has been put in place at: https://www.gofundme.com/f/walter-hunts-cancer-treatment-fundraiser
If you’re able, any donation – big or small – will make a meaningful difference. Your generosity will help lighten the load so Wally can focus on getting well.
Thank you.
