ARCOIreland regrets to inform its members of the death of Commandant Daniel (Danny) Hynes at his home in Loughrea, County Galway on Sunday, 5th November 2017. Devoted husband of Catherine, father of Calum, Siobhan and Kevin, and grandfather of Lillie and Evie. Sadly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, sisters Ann and Kitty, sisters and brothers in law, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
Danny was a native of Athlone and a member of 49 Cadet Class. He served in 2 Motor Squadron (later 2 Cavalry Squadron), the Office of the Directorate of Cavalry, 11 Cavalry Squadron and Headquarters Eastern Command; he was Squadron Commander of both 4 and 5 Cavalry Squadrons. Danny served overseas with Recce Company of 45, 57 and 65 Infantry Battalions UNIFIL and as an observer with ECMM.
Reposing Thursday, 9th November, in Kilboy’s Funeral Home, Loughrea from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral Cortege will arrive to Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Loughrea for burial at 12.30pm Friday, 10th November.
