Comdt. Daniel O’Donovan RIP

ARCOIreland regrets to inform its members of the death of Commandant Daniel O’Donovan, Late of Schull, County Cork, and Wexford Town. Peacefully, on Wednesday 20th May 2020, at his daughter’s home in Ashgrove, Arklow, County Wicklow, in the tender care of his loving family. Beloved husband of Mary & much-loved father of Anne & Tricia. Deeply regretted by his sorrowing wife, daughters, grandchildren Mark & Ruth, extended family & friends.

Daniel O’Donovan was commissioned into the Corps of Engineers in May 1963 and saw service with Depot Engineers. He was promoted to the rank of Commandant in May 1975 and retired in the early 1980s. After his retirement from the Defence Forces he worked as an engineer with Wexford County Council.

In accordance with government guidelines, Daniel’s funeral took place privately.
