ARCO regrets to inform its members of the death of Captain Daniel (Danny) Jevens, of Dolcordon, Coolcotts Lane, Wexford Town, Wexford on October 9th, 2023 at Knockeen Nursing Home, Barntown. Beloved husband of the late Dolly, father of Donal and Cormac, and loving brother of Jean. Grandfather to Sarah, Christopher, Ellie, Anna, and the late David. Sadly missed by his loving sons, daughters-in-law Liz and Mary, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family, Defence Forces comrades and friends.

Danny was a long-time member of 10 Infantry Battalion, An Fórsa Cosanta Áitiúil. After serving on full time duty for a number of years, he was commissioned into the Permanent Defence Force and served in 30 Infantry Battalion and 3 Infantry Battalion. Danny’s grandson, Cadet David Jevens, died in a tragic Air Corps crash with Captain Derek Furniss in County Galway in 2009.
Removal from Kearney’s Funeral Home, Selskar Street, at 11.30am on Wednesday morning to Saint Alphonsus’ Church, Barntown for Funeral mass at 12 noon followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
