On Monday, 19th May 2025, the President of the Association of Retired Commissioned Officers, Major-General Maureen O’Brien (Retired), attended the Air Corps Commissioning in Casement Aerodrome, Baldonnel and presented the Association’s sword to newly commissioned Lieutenant Thomas Bourgnon. Thomas is from La Chaux-du-Milieu in Switzerland. His mother is originally from Sligo. He was born in 1998 and is married. He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Switzerland and worked as an engineer and a firefighter before coming to Ireland to join the Cadets.
In all 11 Cadets were commissioned, including 2 females. Lieutenant Eoin Kane is the son of Lieutenant-Colonel Ray Kane and Lieutenant Jack Verling is the son of Commandant Donnagh Verling (Retired) and the grandson of Commandant Mick Verling (Retired).
