ARCO regrets to inform its members of the death of Captain J.C. (Jerry) Healy, Glanmire, and late of Crosshaven, County Cork. On March 16th, 2024, peacefully, in the wonderful care of the staff of Cork University Hospital. Dearly loved husband of Gilda and the late Noelle and much-loved father of Fiona, Billie and Richard and dear stepfather of David and Susan. Sadly missed by his loving wife and family, sons-in-law John, Peter and Hugh, daughters-in-law Caroline and Patricia, grandchildren James, Leo, Ciara, Isabelle, Tim, Lillias, Gilda, Lauren, Hugh and Hollie, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives, Defence Forces colleagues and friends.
Jerry Healy, a native of Crosshaven, County Cork, enlisted in the Defence Forces on 25th November 1950 as a Cadet with 25 Cadet Class and was commissioned as an Artillery Officer on 24th November 1952. The bulk of Jerry’s service was with 1 Field Artillery Regiment in Murphy Barracks, Ballincollig. He served overseas in the Congo and in Cyprus and was a graduate of the Staff College in Camberley, Surrey. Jerry retired as a Captain to take up a career in civilian life.
