Members of ARCOIreland who have taken up employment in the wider Public Service will be aware that the Government’s Public Service Reform Plan approved the establishment of a HR Shared Service Centre for the Civil Service called PeoplePoint. PeoplePoint is located in Clonskeagh, Dublin and is staffed and managed by Civil Servants. It has taken on the centralised responsibility of managing the routine day-to-day HR functions of the Civil Service.
The PeoplePoint website, which can only be accessed through individual Departments’ own internal websites, includes a section where employees can review their own pension entitlements. This is of particular interest to ARCOIreland members who either joined the Public Service directly after leaving the Defence Forces, or indirectly i.e. first pursued other interests following retirement from the Defence Forces. Feedback from members suggests that some individual’s public service history is not fully recorded.
