Lt. Col. Danny Flood RIP

RIP

ARCOIreland regrets to inform its members of the death of Lieutenant Colonel Donald A. (Danny) Flood, Derdimus, Tennypark, Kilkenny. On 18th August 2016, surrounded by his loving family and in the loving care of the management and staff of Tinnypark Nursing Home. Beloved husband of the late Noeline and loving father of Gearóid, Deirdre, Seán, Frank, Danny and the late Ciarán. Sadly missed by his family, brother Tom, daughters-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandchildren, great granddaughter, extended family and friends. A member of the 27th Cadet Class and a formidable inter county footballer, he was part of the Kildare full back line over a ten-year period. He served in the southern sector of the old Eastern Command area during his career and was Officer Commanding 61 Infantry Battalion UNIFIL. Danny was a former Vice President of the Association of Retired Commissioned Officers.

Reposing at his home on Saturday from 1 pm to 5 pm with house private thereafter. Removal on Sunday to St. Patrick’s Church, Kilkenny, arriving for Funeral Mass at 12.30 pm. Interment afterwards in Foulkstown Cemetery.
