Lt. Col. Bill O’Riain RIP

RIP

ARCOIreland regrets to inform its members of the death, on 13th March 2016, of Lieutenant Colonel Bill O’Riain, Rathfarnham, Dublin and late of Ballyhooly, Co Cork. Peacefully, after an illness bravely borne, surrounded by his family, in the loving care of the staff at Saint Vincent’s Private Hospital. Much loved husband of Kathleen (nee Gillick) and dear father of Donal, Liam, John and Mark. Sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, niece, everyone at Glanworth GAA and a large circle of friends. Bill was a member of the 30th Cadet Class and had a long association with the Eastern Command – as a Captain in the 2 Infantry Battalion and later as QM Eastern Command. A noted footballer with his native Cork and, when a Cadet, a member of the Military College team that won the Kildare Senior Football Championship sixty years ago this year.

Funeral Mass on Wednesday, March 16th, at 11.30am at The Church of the Annunciation, Rathfarnham, followed by Cremation at Mount Jerome. Donations in lieu of flowers to the Irish Cancer Society.
